Summer’s a wonderful time when people escape from the every day world and take a trip to new destinations, fresh scenes and experiences. These days, travelers find themselves loaded down with several different electronic gadgets to help them stay informed, entertained and in touch while on the road. Each gizmo has its own carrying case, attachments and wires which makes packing a nightmare. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if there was one small gadget a traveler could use for all their entertainment, tasks, and communication needs? Look no further—such a gizmo does exist. The device is called the iPod iTouch, by Apple. I had decided to use spray primer where possible (everywhere but the vinyl wallboard which I felt was too close to too many of the other non-paint surfaces such as the ceiling and windows. For masking tape I like the green Frog Tape. More expensive but worth it in my experience. I also used plastic and cloth drop cloths over the rug and seating and paper to cover windows and other elements. This took about another 2 hours.
While in St. George there are many attractions for all types of visitors. Whether you love to golf or just relax and shop it offers a wide variety of adventures. There are several different museums if you would like to spend the day indoors in an educational atmosphere. Two of the top in the area are the Dinosaur Discovery at Johnson Farm and The Rosenbruch Wildlife Museum.
Lake Powell offers the opportunity for the ultimate wake board or water skiing experience. The small canyons are perfect for personal watercraft adventures. Tubing and swimming are perfect with water temperatures in the mid 70’s in the summer months. World class fishing is also available on Lake Powell. There is really something for everybody to experience.
Paint the vinyl wallboard. I have to admit, this project gave me the most pause as I’d been taught that paint over vinyl is a dubious task. But there’s nothing that says 80’s nursing home more than this powder blue & pink speckled pattern so its gotta go.
At the base of the falls, you’ll see small cascades pouring over limestone ledges. For a small fee, you can access trails that move upwards through the jungle towards the top of the falls. Higher up, you’ll find large turquoise pools that are very popular for swimming. Because the falls are shaded by the jungle, the water is nice and cool.
Gift cards and gifts certificates can come in handy when long layovers and weather delays keep travellers grounded at the airport. Before you buy this gift for a traveller, however, check two make sure it will be valid where the recipient will be going.
